Popular streamer Matthew "Mizkif" Rinaudo finds himself back in the spotlight as fresh legal documents shed light on the controversial reasons behind his exit from the content creator organisation One True King (OTK). The details emerged from OTK's recent court filing in an ongoing legal dispute with the influencer.
Alleged Physical Incidents Detailed in Filing
According to the legal submission, a significant factor in Mizkif's departure was his alleged involvement in a physical altercation with a fellow OTK co-owner. The organisation claims this incident occurred during an internal owners' meeting on April 17, 2023. The filing states the situation escalated to a point where multiple individuals, including OTK's Chief Operating Officer known as TipsOut, had to intervene to stop Mizkif from further attacking the other owner.
The document, part of OTK's "motion to compel arbitration and stay litigation," also mentions a second alleged physical incident dated September 26, 2023. This event reportedly involved Mizkif and another content creator, with claims that the other individual sustained injuries.
OTK's Decision and Mizkif's Response
Following an internal review of these events, OTK took formal action. The organisation issued Mizkif a Notice of Termination and Repurchase on November 6, 2023. This legal step marked the official beginning of the end of his association with the group.
Mizkif addressed the allegations during a live stream on Kick, the platform he joined after leaving Twitch. He cautioned viewers that his ability to discuss details was limited due to the active lawsuit. "I really can't talk about it because it is involved in the lawsuit... but just know that it's completely misleading," he stated, characterising parts of the filing as "lawyer jargon."
He did, however, identify the other person involved in the April 2023 meeting as fellow streamer Nick Polom (NMP), downplaying the event as "a small thing that happened between me and Nick, three years ago." This comment has sparked online speculation, with other streamers like Felix "xQc" Lengyel also weighing in on the identity.
Ongoing Legal Battle and Community Reaction
The court filing is the latest development in a broader legal conflict. Mizkif had previously filed a lawsuit against OTK, King Gaming, Mythic Talent, and several individual streamers. He has consistently denied any wrongdoing.
The gaming and streaming community has been closely following the case, with commentators like YouTuber Henry Resilient analysing the court exhibits. Mizkif maintains that the full truth will be determined through the legal process and continues his streaming activities amidst the controversy.
