OnePlus Set for Year-End Double Launch: 15R and Pad Go 2 Arrive December 17
OnePlus has officially announced the global launch of two new devices, the OnePlus 15R smartphone and the OnePlus Pad Go 2 tablet, scheduled for December 17. The sales for these products will commence in key markets including India, Europe, and North America. This launch event follows the debut of the flagship OnePlus 15, which is expected to arrive in October, setting the stage for a powerful end to the year for the brand.
OnePlus 15R: A Durability Powerhouse with Premium Specs
The OnePlus 15R is poised to make a significant impact in the performance-centric smartphone segment. The device will be available in two attractive colour options: Charcoal Black and Mint Breeze. A key highlight of the new design is a flat metal mid-frame and a repositioned camera module, placed at a precise 45-degree angle from the upper left corner.
OnePlus is making bold claims about the device's robustness, stating it has the most comprehensive durability ratings in the industry. The phone is expected to carry IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings, making it highly resistant to dust, water, and capable of withstanding challenging terrain changes.
While official specifications are yet to be confirmed, the device, which is the global version of the recently launched OnePlus Ace 6 in China, is anticipated to feature:
- A 6.83-inch 1.5K LTPS AMOLED display with a super-smooth 165 Hz refresh rate.
- The powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite processor under the hood.
- A triple camera setup led by a 50MP primary sensor with OIS, accompanied by an 8MP ultra-wide lens and a 16MP front camera.
- A massive 7,800mAh battery supported by 120W wired fast charging. Wireless charging is not expected to be included.
This premium package is likely to come with a higher price tag, with the OnePlus 15R anticipated to start at around Rs 45,000 in India.
OnePlus Pad Go 2: Bringing 5G and a Stylus to the Masses
On the tablet front, the OnePlus Pad Go 2 is designed to capture the affordable mid-range market. OnePlus promises it will deliver an excellent and accessible tablet experience. It will be available in Shadow Black and Lavender Drift colour variants.
A major upgrade for this model is the inclusion of 5G connectivity, making it the first OnePlus tablet to offer this feature. The company has highlighted that the Shadow Black variant, in particular, will offer enhanced connectivity for fast and seamless mobile performance.
Productivity is a key focus for the Pad Go 2. It will be the first tablet in the OnePlus Go series to integrate support for a stylus. This addition is aimed at boosting accuracy and efficiency for tasks like note-taking and creative work, making the device a compelling option for both students and working professionals.
As the December 17 launch date approaches, OnePlus is expected to reveal more detailed information about both the OnePlus 15R and the OnePlus Pad Go 2 in the coming weeks, building anticipation among tech enthusiasts globally.
