GBA chief M Maheshwar Rao has directed officials to strictly adhere to timelines for major infrastructure projects in Bengaluru. During a review meeting, he emphasized the importance of completing projects on schedule to avoid cost overruns and public inconvenience.
Clear Project Schedules
Rao instructed officials to prepare clear and detailed project schedules. He stressed that every phase of the project must have defined milestones and deadlines. This approach will help in monitoring progress and identifying delays early.
Deployment of Resources
The GBA chief also called for deploying adequate manpower and machinery at project sites. He noted that resource shortages often lead to delays, and ensuring sufficient resources is critical for timely completion.
Accountability and Monitoring
Rao urged officials to take ownership of their projects and maintain regular monitoring. He suggested using technology to track progress and report any deviations immediately. Accountability at all levels will be key to success.
The directive comes amid growing concerns over delays in several key infrastructure projects in the city. The GBA is responsible for overseeing major developments, including roads, flyovers, and utilities. Rao's instructions aim to streamline execution and improve efficiency.
