Mini India has made a significant impact with the launch of the new Mini Cooper S Victory edition sporty hatchback in the Indian market. Remarkably, within just 20 days of its introduction, this hot hatchback has completely sold out across the country, highlighting strong consumer demand for exclusive automotive offerings.
Pricing and Availability Details
The sporty hatchback carries a price tag of Rs 57.5 lakh (ex-showroom), with bookings commencing immediately after its launch. It has been imported to India via the Completely Built Unit (CBU) route, and the company emphasized that it would be available in limited numbers. However, the exact allocation of units for the Indian market has not been disclosed publicly, adding to its exclusivity.
Design and Inspiration of the Victory Edition
The MINI Cooper S Victory Edition is a limited-run model that draws inspiration from the 1965 Monte Carlo Rally-winning Mini Cooper S, famously driven by Timo Mäkinen and Paul Easter. Only a few units have been allocated for India, making it a rare find. Externally, the car is finished in a striking Chilli Red color, complemented by a white stripe that runs across the bonnet, roof, and rear. It features distinctive '52' side graphics and a '1965' badge on the C-pillar, paying homage to its racing heritage. Additional design elements include a black panoramic roof, 18-inch JCW Lap Spoke two-tone alloy wheels, and LED lighting with selectable signature modes and animated features.
Interior Features and Technology
Inside, the cabin adopts a minimalistic layout with a strong focus on digital controls and the use of recycled materials. It is equipped with JCW sport seats upholstered in Vescin Black, a JCW steering wheel integrated with paddle shifters, and subtle '1965' detailing. The dashboard and door panels utilize textile surfaces, enhanced by ambient lighting and projection elements. Technologically, the car boasts a circular OLED touchscreen running the MINI Operating System 9, along with advanced features such as voice control, a head-up display, a Harman Kardon audio system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, navigation, remote services, and a digital key for added convenience.
Performance and Safety Specifications
Under the hood, the Mini Cooper S Victory Edition is powered by a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine that delivers an impressive 204 horsepower and 300 Newton-meters of torque. This engine is paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, enabling the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 6.6 seconds and achieve a top speed of 242 kilometers per hour. The vehicle also comes equipped with adaptive suspension and JCW sport brakes for enhanced handling. Other notable features include multiple drive modes, a toggle-based control interface, wireless charging, and systems like cruise control and parking assist. On the safety front, it includes airbags, anti-lock braking system (ABS), dynamic stability control, and a rear-view camera to ensure driver and passenger security.
