LG & Dolby Launch FlexConnect: Wireless Atmos Sound in 2026
LG's Wireless Dolby Atmos Sound System for 2026

In a major move for home entertainment, Dolby and LG Electronics have joined forces to make high-quality, wireless Dolby Atmos sound a practical reality for living rooms. The companies announced the LG Sound Suite, a modular audio system built around the new Dolby Atmos FlexConnect technology, set to debut in 2026.

The Heart of the System: Dolby Atmos FlexConnect

The core innovation is Dolby Atmos FlexConnect, a smart technology designed to eliminate the traditional complexity of wired home theater setups. It intelligently tunes audio to the specific listening environment. From the moment of setup, the system automatically adapts to the room's layout and acoustics, delivering cinematic, immersive sound without requiring precise speaker placement or technical expertise from the user.

The technology will first arrive in the H7 soundbar, hailed as the world's first soundbar powered by Dolby Atmos FlexConnect. This marks the expansion of FlexConnect into a new category of audio devices. Furthermore, LG confirmed that its latest range of premium televisions from 2025 will also gain support for FlexConnect via a future software update.

Scalable and Flexible Audio Solutions

The LG Sound Suite is built to be highly modular, allowing users to start with a basic setup and expand over time. The system supports an impressive 27 different speaker configurations, ranging from a simple two-speaker arrangement to a full, theater-like 13.1.7-channel surround sound experience.

A complete setup can include the H7 soundbar, up to four M7 or M5 wireless surround speakers, and a W7 subwoofer. FlexConnect provides versatility in usage: it can work with any television when the H7 soundbar is the main device, or it can function directly with compatible LG 4K Dolby Vision TVs paired with wireless speakers or a subwoofer.

Aiming for Accessibility and Ease of Use

LG states that this partnership is fundamentally about giving users control. By combining Dolby's adaptive audio technology with LG's wireless, modular design and AI-driven tuning, the goal is to offer consistent, high-end cinematic sound from any seat in the room, regardless of the room's size or shape.

The LG Sound Suite powered by Dolby Atmos FlexConnect is scheduled for a showcase at CES 2026, which will be held from January 6 to 9. This announcement signals a significant push by both companies to make premium, immersive audio more flexible and accessible to a wider audience, removing the technical hurdles that have often accompanied high-fidelity home theater systems.
