In a remarkable demonstration of robotic endurance, a Chinese humanoid machine has officially entered the Guinness World Records after successfully completing an unprecedented three-day, 100-kilometer journey entirely on foot.

The Record-Breaking Journey

The Agibot A2 humanoid robot covered an impressive 106.286 kilometers during its autonomous walk from Suzhou to Shanghai between November 10 and 13. This extraordinary achievement has earned the machine the official Guinness World Record for the 'longest journey walked by a humanoid robot'.

The robotic marathon began on the evening of November 10 in Suzhou and concluded at Shanghai's iconic waterfront Bund area on November 13. Throughout its nearly three-day expedition, the robot navigated various challenging terrains including highways and busy city streets, demonstrating exceptional durability and navigation capabilities.

Technical Specifications and Preparation

According to the Guinness World Records website, the Agibot underwent significant optimization between April and May 2025 to prevent falling during extended operation. The preparation included a successful 24-hour fully autonomous walk in high temperatures approaching 40°C on August 17, which was broadcast live online.

The Agibot A2 stands 5.74 feet tall and weighs approximately 55 kilograms, equipped with advanced AI-powered sensing capabilities that enable it to process text, audio, and visual information. Remarkably, the unit used for this record attempt was a standard, mass-produced commercial model identical to those delivered to clients, without any customized modifications.

For this challenging walk, the robot was equipped with dual GPS modules, built-in lidar, and infrared depth cameras to navigate changing light conditions and complex urban environments effectively.

Beyond Walking: Multifunctional Capabilities

Walking represents just one of the Agibot A2's numerous abilities. The company emphasizes that the robot is also capable of multilingual interaction, facial recognition, memory functions, autonomous guiding, and delivery tasks.

In a charming display of personality, the A2 robot briefly interacted with reporters after completing its 100-kilometer trek, describing the journey as a "memorable experience" in its "machine life" and humorously noting that it might now "need a new pair of shoes."

The company stated that walking from Suzhou to Shanghai is challenging even for many humans to complete in one continuous effort, making the robot's accomplishment particularly significant. This achievement demonstrates substantial advances in hardware durability, balance control, and overall endurance - crucial factors for future commercial deployment of humanoid robotics technology.
