In a successful operation against drug trafficking, the Venur police arrested two individuals and seized MDMA valued at approximately Rs 39,200 during a raid conducted near Kambaladadda on the Guruvayanakere–Moodubidire Road on Wednesday.
Operation Details
Acting on credible information regarding the illegal transportation of narcotics, Venur Police Sub-Inspector Akshay Davagira led a team to intercept a car. The suspects were identified as Mohammed Tahnveer (27), a resident of Mijar, and Mohammed Salvan (22), a resident of Moodubidire. The police discovered that the duo was allegedly transporting about 3.9 grams of MDMA, a banned substance commonly known as ecstasy.
Seizure and Legal Action
The police seized the narcotic substance along with the car used for transportation. Both accused were taken into custody for further legal proceedings. A case has been registered at the Venur police station under Sections 8(c) and 22(b) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The investigation is ongoing to determine the source and intended distribution network of the drugs.
