Samsung India Mobile Head Raju Pullan Resigns After 18 Years

Pullan, a veteran of the South Korean tech giant, served as the mobile head for nearly four and a half years and is leaving after a total of 18 years at Samsung India in various leadership roles.

In a farewell post shared on LinkedIn, Pullan reflected on his long career with the company. "It's been a fantastic journey of 18 years with Samsung," he wrote, adding that he "had the opportunity of bringing Galaxy phones to millions of households in India." He expressed gratitude for the mentors, colleagues, and teams who made the journey meaningful.

Career Highlights

Over the years, Pullan took on diverse responsibilities, including leading as Sales Head for MX India and serving as SOP Head- India, where he focused on establishing and innovating sustainable processes. He also led the turnaround of the Consumer Electronics division for four years and, since 2022, drove the MX business forward in an increasingly competitive environment. Pullan noted that each phase came with its own challenges, but with a brand like Samsung and outstanding teams, they scaled the business and brought meaningful innovation to millions of consumers across India.

Aditya Babbar to Take Over

Aditya Babbar, currently Vice President: Head of Product Marketing & E-commerce at Samsung Mobile, will take on additional responsibilities as the new head of the mobile division. Pullan expressed confidence in Babbar and the MX leadership team, stating, "The foundation is strong, the direction is clear, and the ambition for the next decade of growth is firmly in place." He emphasized that businesses are built on people, partnership, deep collaboration, and innovation.

Pullan highlighted that Samsung's legacy in India is built on technology leadership, trust, consistency, and a deep understanding of the consumer. He felt privileged to have contributed to that legacy and to have been part of a journey that impacted millions of lives. He also acknowledged the ecosystem of over 22,000 employees in the Mobile Biz and an extended network of 100,000+ retailers across channels, including Modern Retail, Regional Chain partners, Samsung Exclusive stores, online players, and NBFC and banking partners, all with the mission to create value and upgrade consumers in India.
