Prayagraj: In a significant operation, the city police recovered and returned 210 lost mobile phones valued at approximately Rs 63.24 lakh to their owners on Monday. The initiative came in response to multiple complaints received through the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) portal, a government platform for tracking lost or stolen mobile devices.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Ganga Nagar) Kuldeep Singh informed the Times of India, "The surveillance cell has successfully recovered 210 lost or missing mobile phones and handed them over to their rightful owners." He elaborated that the recovery process involved a combination of investigative tools, including call detail records, CCTV footage, location tracking, and the CEIR portal. These methods enabled the police to identify and retrieve the devices, ensuring they were returned to the complainants.
