Bajaj Auto has launched the new Avenger 220 Street in India, priced at Rs 1.29 lakh (ex-showroom). The motorcycle comes with significant updates including alloy wheels, refreshed styling, and enhanced cruiser comfort features.
Key Updates and Features
The Bajaj Avenger 220 Street now sports a new design language with a muscular fuel tank, redesigned headlamp cluster, and chrome accents. The most notable change is the introduction of alloy wheels, replacing the earlier spoke wheels, which adds a modern touch and reduces maintenance. The bike also gets tubeless tyres for added safety.
Engine and Performance
Under the tank, the Avenger 220 Street continues with the same 220cc, single-cylinder, DTS-i engine that produces 19 bhp and 17.5 Nm of peak torque. It is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The engine is known for its refined performance and adequate torque for city cruising.
Comfort and Ergonomics
Bajaj has focused on rider comfort with a new contoured seat, raised handlebars, and forward-set footpegs. The suspension setup includes telescopic forks at the front and twin shock absorbers at the rear, tuned for a plush ride. The bike also features a new instrument cluster with a digital speedometer and odometer.
Price and Variants
The Bajaj Avenger 220 Street is priced at Rs 1.29 lakh (ex-showroom), making it a competitive option in the entry-level cruiser segment. It is available in two colour options: Ebony Black and Burgundy. The bike will compete with the Royal Enfield Hunter 350 and the TVS Ronin.
Availability
The new Avenger 220 Street is now available at all Bajaj dealerships across India. Bookings have already commenced, and deliveries are expected to begin soon. Bajaj is also offering attractive finance schemes and exchange offers to boost sales.
With these updates, Bajaj aims to attract young riders looking for a stylish and comfortable cruiser motorcycle at an affordable price point.
