Panaji: Minerva Academy from Punjab delivered a commanding performance, securing a 9-1 victory against Sesa Football Academy in the opening match of the Dream Sports Championship-AIFF Junior League at the Panchayat ground in Raia on Sunday morning.
Minerva's Dominance
Minerva outclassed Sesa in both technique and speed, weaving a web around the hapless Goan team throughout the game. Konthoujam Denamoni and Nitin Kumar Pasi each scored two goals, while captain Tony Huidrom, Punshiba Meitei, K Chetan Singh, Md Azam Khan, and Mahtab Singh also found the net. Royden Carvalho scored the lone goal for Sesa in the second half.

In the second game of the day, Bengaluru FC thrashed Jamshedpur FC 4-0, with CH Sakip scoring a brilliant hat-trick and Mohammad Sohil Khan adding another goal. Football 4 Change defeated East Bengal 3-0, thanks to a hat-trick from Dinglen Haokip. The final evening match between Sreenidhi Deccan and SSE-BFC ended in a goalless draw in a closely contested affair.
