CSJM University Kanpur Triumphs in National Kho Kho Championship
In a display of exceptional skill and teamwork, CSJM University Kanpur has been crowned the champion of the All India Inter-University Men's Kho Kho Championship. The host university secured the title by defeating Lovely Professional University Punjab with a decisive score of 36-26 in the final match, held on Wednesday at the university campus.
Road to Victory: Semi-Final Dominance
Earlier in the day, CSJM University demonstrated their prowess by winning both semi-final matches. They first overcame SRTMUN University Nanded with a score of 30-22, followed by a victory against Lovely Professional University Phagwara Punjab, winning 28-18. This strong performance set the stage for their championship win.
Joint Third Place and Individual Honors
Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathwada (SRTMU) Nanded and Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar University Sambhaji Nagar were jointly declared as the third-place holders in the tournament. Individual accolades were also awarded, highlighting standout players from the competition.
Sri Niwas of CSJM University Kanpur was adjudged the best attacker, showcasing his offensive skills throughout the championship. Deva Narayan of LPU Punjab earned recognition as the best defender for his resilient performance. The prestigious title of best player of the tournament was awarded to Govind Yadav, acknowledging his overall contribution and excellence on the field.
