CM Yogi Adityanath Inspects Preparations for Saharanpur's Shakumbhari Devi Mela

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath conducted a comprehensive review of the arrangements for the Siddhpeeth Maa Shakumbhari Devi Mela in Saharanpur on Saturday. The annual fair is scheduled to commence on March 19, coinciding with the auspicious Chaitra Navratri festival.

Focus on Law, Order, and Security Measures

During his visit, the Chief Minister emphasized the critical importance of maintaining robust law and order throughout the event. He directed that all security personnel deployed at the mela receive thorough briefings to ensure polite and respectful interactions with devotees and visitors.

"The fair premises must remain under constant CCTV surveillance," stated Yogi Adityanath. "We must integrate Anti-Romeo squads, civil defence volunteers, and non-governmental organizations to bolster the overall security framework."

Cleanliness, Hygiene, and Visitor Amenities

The CM issued strict directives for maintaining impeccable cleanliness standards. He mandated the identification of a waste disposal site located at a safe distance from the mela area to prevent any environmental or health hazards.

Plastic items will be completely prohibited within the mela zone. Additionally, authorities have been instructed to establish separate, well-maintained toilet facilities for men and women to ensure convenience and dignity for all attendees.

Yogi Adityanath also stressed the necessity of providing pure drinking water, hygienic food options, and high-quality prasad to all visitors. He called for reasonable parking fee structures and the completion of verification processes for e-rickshaw drivers, auto-rickshaw operators, and shopkeepers operating in the vicinity.

Infrastructure and Development Works Reviewed

The Chief Minister inspected the progress of various development projects at the Maa Shakumbhari Devi Siddhpeeth Temple complex. This included a detailed review of the ongoing tourism corridor initiative, which encompasses:

  • A souvenir shop
  • New toilet blocks
  • A tourist facilitation centre
  • A multilevel parking facility near the temple

He instructed officials to ensure all planned works are completed within the stipulated timeframe while adhering to stringent quality standards. Projects originally slated for an October completion must be finalized ahead of the Sharadiya Navratri season.

Furthermore, the CM directed authorities to expedite the construction of the elevated road connecting the Bhura Dev Temple to the Shakumbhari Devi Temple, aiming to improve connectivity and ease of access for pilgrims.

Promoting Public Welfare and Positive Messaging

Yogi Adityanath highlighted the opportunity to showcase the state's public welfare schemes through government hoardings, exhibitions, and LED vans at the mela. He emphasized the need for an uninterrupted power supply throughout the event.

"Visitors arriving from across the nation should depart with a positive and lasting impression of Uttar Pradesh," the Chief Minister told the assembled officials.

Concluding his visit, CM Yogi Adityanath offered prayers with traditional Vedic chants at both the Bhuradev temple and the Shakumbhari Devi Siddhpeeth temple, seeking divine blessings for the successful and peaceful conduct of the grand mela.
