CM Yogi Hails UP Police Welfare Body's Presentation at Police Manthan-2025
Yogi Praises VAMA Sarathi at Police Conference

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath singled out a presentation by the state police's welfare association for high praise during a major conference of senior officers. The event, titled Police Manthan-2025, saw the Chief Minister describe the detailed presentation by the Uttar Pradesh Police Family Welfare Association (VAMA Sarathi) as the best of the conference.

Spotlight on Police Welfare and Development

The commendation came during the first day of the conference, which featured seven technical sessions. In a session dedicated to human resource development, welfare, police behaviour, and training, VAMA Sarathi's General Secretary, Dr. Charu Gaba, delivered the comprehensive presentation that captured the CM's attention.

Dr. Gaba outlined the association's structured approach to supporting police families across the vast state. She explained that under the guidance of Meenakshi Singh, six specialised sub-committees have been formed. These committees focus on distinct areas crucial for family well-being: health and welfare, skill development, education, environment, special events, and sports and fitness.

Statewide Network for Support

To implement these initiatives effectively, VAMA Sarathi has established a robust on-ground network. A total of 177 welfare nodal officers and 1,000 VAMA volunteers have been deployed across Uttar Pradesh. This workforce is tasked with directly assisting and supporting the families of police personnel, ensuring help reaches those who need it.

Chief Minister Adityanath expressed his appreciation for several key programmes launched by the association. He specifically noted the healthcare Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) signed with Apollo Hospitals and Tata IMG, which provide crucial medical services to families.

Initiatives Garnering Government Approval

Other initiatives that received the CM's endorsement include the organization of homoeopathy medical camps across all 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh. Educational support programmes for children of police personnel were also highlighted, along with proposals for providing residential coaching to help them excel academically.

In his address, the Chief Minister urged police officials to actively work towards strengthening VAMA Sarathi's outreach and deepening its impact. He emphasized the importance of such welfare measures in boosting the morale of the police force, enabling them to perform their duties with greater dedication and peace of mind regarding their families' well-being.

The recognition at Police Manthan-2025 underscores the state government's focus on holistic police welfare, moving beyond operational efficiency to address the personal and familial needs of those in uniform.
