CM Yogi Adityanath Conducts Rigorous Inspection of Varanasi Development Initiatives

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath undertook a comprehensive review of multiple development projects in Varanasi on Sunday, emphasizing the critical importance of adhering to deadlines and maintaining superior quality standards. The inspection tour covered various infrastructure and healthcare initiatives, reflecting the state government's commitment to urban enhancement and public welfare.

Smart Roads Under CM Grid Scheme Advance Rapidly

Yogi Adityanath initiated his inspections by focusing on the roads being constructed as part of the CM Grid scheme. He directed officials to complete all works within the stipulated time frames while ensuring that quality aligns with established benchmarks. Six smart roads are currently under development in the Varanasi urban area, with a total investment of Rs 47 crore. These roads include:

  • Tilak Ji ki Murti to Bharat Seva Ashram
  • Golghar Chauraha to LT College
  • Ghanti Mill to Sigra Thana
  • Sigra Chauraha to Aurangabad
  • Sundarpur main road to Cherian Hospital
  • Ravidas Gate to Trauma Centre

Officials reported that approximately 90% of the work has been completed. In addition to the road construction, significant efforts are being made to enhance greenery along these routes. This includes planting trees and creating sitting areas alongside footpaths, aimed at improving the overall ambiance and providing recreational spaces for residents.

Extensive Development Portfolio Presented to Chief Minister

Divisional Commissioner S Rajalingam delivered a detailed presentation on proposed projects to CM Yogi Adityanath. Prior to this, District Magistrate Satyendra Kumar provided a briefing on ongoing development works, highlighting that 74 projects worth Rs 17,000 crore are currently underway. Kumar assured that regular monitoring mechanisms are in place to track progress and address any issues promptly.

New Medical College in Pandeypur to Boost Healthcare Education

During the inspection, Yogi Adityanath visited the site of a new medical college being constructed on 14.2 acres at Mental Hospital in Pandeypur. He stressed the need to accelerate work to meet the project deadline and ordered continuous monitoring of construction progress. It was informed that this medical college will accommodate approximately 150 MBBS students, with construction slated for completion in 2027. The civil works for the college are estimated to cost around Rs 150 crore, representing a significant investment in healthcare infrastructure for the region.

Spiritual Visit Concludes Inspection Tour

Following the project reviews, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath offered prayers at the Kashi Vishwanath and Kaal Bhairav temples, underscoring the cultural and spiritual significance of Varanasi. This visit highlighted the balanced approach of development alongside preservation of heritage, reinforcing the government's holistic vision for the city's growth.
