Uttar Pradesh Administration Launches Anti-Encroachment Drive in Sambhal District

In a decisive move to reclaim public land, the Sambhal district administration in Uttar Pradesh has successfully removed illegal encroachments from gram sabha land in two separate villages. This operation was conducted under the direct directives of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, emphasizing the state government's commitment to upholding land laws and ensuring public resources are protected from unauthorized occupation.

Structured Operations Ensure Law and Order

Officials reported that the administration remained highly alert throughout the entire process, implementing meticulous planning to prevent any potential law-and-order disturbances. The focus was on executing the evictions smoothly and efficiently, with all necessary precautions in place to maintain peace and security in the affected areas.

Village Bicholi: Illegal Constructions on Reserved Land

In the village of Bicholi, located within Sambhal tehsil, investigations revealed that illegal constructions had been erected on land specifically reserved for manure pits and grazing purposes. These unauthorized structures included an Imambara and an Eidgah, which were built without proper authorization.

Following a thorough legal review, the tehsildar court issued a formal eviction order on January 31. As no appeals were filed against this order within the stipulated timeframe, district officials proceeded to dismantle and remove the encroachments, restoring the land to its intended public use.

Village Mubarakpur Band: Mosque and Madrassa on Gram Sabha Land

Similarly, in the village of Mubarakpur Band, the administration discovered that a mosque and a madrassa had been constructed on gram sabha land. In a gesture of cooperation, the authorities initially provided the involved parties, including mutawalli Nusrat Ali and others, with an opportunity to voluntarily remove the structures themselves.

However, citing a lack of resources and logistical challenges, the parties requested administrative assistance for the removal process. Consequently, the illegal constructions were systematically dismantled and cleared on Friday, as part of the coordinated anti-encroachment efforts.

Significant Land Reclaimed and Future Plans

The combined operations in both villages resulted in the liberation of a total of 1.1 hectares of public land from illegal occupation. District Magistrate Rajendra Painsia highlighted that the drive was meticulously executed based on verified revenue records and court orders, ensuring transparency and adherence to legal protocols.

Painsia affirmed, "The anti-encroachment drive will continue across the district, and we are committed to removing all illegal occupations to safeguard public assets." This statement underscores the administration's ongoing resolve to address land encroachment issues proactively and maintain the integrity of public land resources in Uttar Pradesh.
