TVK Leader Predicts Clean Sweep in Kongu Region Ahead of Assembly Elections

In a bold declaration of political intent, TVK chief coordinator KA Sengottaiyan on Sunday asserted his party's confidence in securing a comprehensive victory across the entire Kongu region during the forthcoming Tamil Nadu assembly elections. Addressing a spirited public gathering at Malumichampatti in Coimbatore, Sengottaiyan projected an ambitious electoral outcome for his party.

Confident Claim of Victory in All 29 Constituencies

"We will triumph in every single one of the 29 constituencies within the Kongu region and will humbly present this collective victory at the feet of our esteemed leader, Vijay," proclaimed Sengottaiyan during his address. This statement underscores the party's strategic focus and optimism regarding their electoral prospects in this significant geographical area of Tamil Nadu.

Criticism of Rival DMK's Expenditure

Drawing a sharp contrast with political opponents, Sengottaiyan highlighted the financial aspects of campaign activities. "In a recent development, the DMK organized its women's wing conference and reportedly allocated a staggering Rs 110 crore for the event. In stark comparison, the TVK has not expended even a single rupee to orchestrate our meetings," he remarked, emphasizing a narrative of fiscal prudence and grassroots mobilization.

Allegations Against AIADMK's Political Alignment

Adding to the political discourse, TVK general secretary for election campaign management, Aadhav Arjuna, launched a pointed accusation against the AIADMK. Arjuna alleged that following the passing of its iconic leader Jayalalithaa, the AIADMK has effectively "become a subordinate entity to the BJP," suggesting a shift in political alliances and autonomy.

Police Approval and Strict Conditions for Vijay's Rally

In a related development, the Salem city police formally granted permission on Sunday for TVK leader Vijay to conduct a public meeting at Seelanaickkanpatty. The event is scheduled for February 13, with a designated timeframe from noon to 3 PM.

A senior police official confirmed, "We have authorized a maximum participation of 5,000 individuals for the gathering." The permission, however, comes with a set of stringent regulations imposed by the authorities to ensure public order and safety.

The police have mandated several critical conditions for the rally:

  • There must be no disruption to traffic flow or creation of congestion that could inconvenience the general public.
  • As a precautionary safety measure, pregnant women and children are expressly prohibited from attending the meeting.

These stipulations reflect the authorities' proactive measures to maintain law and order during the politically charged pre-election period, balancing the right to assembly with community welfare and security concerns.
