In Trichy, the Anti-Corruption Movement has formally requested local authorities to evict encroachments by used two-wheeler showrooms on Pattabiraman Street. These establishments are reportedly causing frequent traffic bottlenecks and posing significant accident risks for pedestrians, prompting urgent calls for intervention.

Pattabiraman Street serves as a vital connector, linking EVR Road near the MGMGH campus with Thennur High Road near KMC Hospital. This road further provides access to numerous private hospitals, schools, markets, and religious institutions, making it a key thoroughfare in the city. K Chandrasekar, president of the Anti-Corruption Movement, emphasized the severity of the situation. "Two-wheeler shops lack adequate space to enable parking for vehicles of their visitors. Pedestrians are forced to walk on the carriageway. It is high time Trichy corporation and city police relocate the shops and restore the road for vehicular movement and pedestrians," he stated.
