According to police reports, both victims were polytechnic diploma holders and were working as interns at a Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) near Akkireddypalem. The accident occurred when the rider lost control of the scooter, causing it to collide with a road divider. Both individuals suffered critical injuries, with Mahalakshmi succumbing to her wounds.
Young Man Killed in Lorry Collision in Srikakulam
In a separate incident in Srikakulam district, a young man died on the spot after his motorcycle was struck by a lorry near Singannapalem locality in Burjha mandal. The victim has been identified as K Jeevan Kumar.
Police officials stated that the fatal accident happened while Kumar was returning home from a medical store. He is survived by his wife and two children, leaving the family in profound grief.
Elderly Pedestrian Fatally Hit by Tractor
Adding to the day's tragedies, an elderly man was killed after being hit by a tractor while crossing the road at Tirlangi in Tekkali mandal, also within Srikakulam district. The deceased has been named as S Ramulu.
