In a dramatic press conference in Tirupati, Udayagiri's Telugu Desam Party (TDP) legislator, Kakarla Suresh, made a sensational claim. He announced his intention to submit a detailed report to Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu regarding an alleged conspiracy to honey trap him and damage his reputation. Suresh asserted that a group of leaders from both his own party and the opposition YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) were behind the plot.
The Core Allegations and the Accuser
Addressing the media on Sunday, MLA Kakarla Suresh directly responded to accusations leveled against him by a woman named Vengamamba. He dismissed her claims as entirely fabricated. According to his account, the incident came to a head in October last year in Vijayawada. Suresh stated that Vengamamba attempted to forcibly enter the hotel where he was staying with the aim of recording videos to malign him.
"Luckily, my security officer and personal staff, who were aware of the woman’s intentions, prevented her at the hotel lobby itself and thwarted her plans," the MLA clarified, detailing how the alleged attempt was neutralized.
MLA's Version of Events and Relationship with Accuser
Kakarla Suresh provided a timeline of his interactions with Vengamamba. He recalled that she first approached him seeking employment. His office subsequently assigned her some Anganwadi-related work for approximately three months between July and September last year.
The Udayagiri MLA emphasized that Vengamamba is a married woman with a family based in Karnataka, who would occasionally visit Udayagiri and contact his office for work. He firmly denied her allegations that she worked for him for over a year without pay and that he promised her an MLA ticket for the 2029 elections.
"First, she claims I got her appointed as an Anganwadi coordinator, a post that does not even exist. Second, she never worked for us for a year under any contract. Most importantly, as a first-time legislator, it is absurd to claim I promised her an MLA seat," Suresh stated, countering each point.
Political Conspiracy and Next Steps
The legislator expressed strong suspicions that the entire episode was a coordinated political attack. He believes that certain leaders from the TDP and YSRCP conspired to use Vengamamba to issue false statements and defame him.
As a result, Kakarla Suresh declared his next course of action. He plans to soon meet Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu and present a comprehensive report documenting what he describes as the entire conspiracy against him. This move is aimed at bringing the alleged plot by rival politicians into the open and seeking redressal from the party leadership.
