In a significant boost to infrastructure and public welfare, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu inaugurated and laid foundation stones for eight crucial development projects with a total value of Rs 153.81 crore during his one-day tour of the Fatehpur Assembly constituency in Kangra district. This comprehensive initiative underscores the state government's commitment to enhancing connectivity and civic amenities in the region.

Key Infrastructure Projects Unveiled

The highlight of the visit was the bhumi pujan (ground-breaking ceremony) for an 800-meter-span bridge over the Beas river. This ambitious project is set to significantly improve transportation links, benefiting residents of both the Fatehpur and Jaswan-Pragpur Assembly constituencies by facilitating easier and safer river crossings.

Additionally, the Chief Minister laid the foundation stone for the Fatehpur to Badiali Road, which is being developed under the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) scheme. This road project aims to enhance rural connectivity and support local economic activities.

Memorial and Financial Allocations

In a tribute to local heroes, CM Sukhu allocated Rs 35 lakh for the construction of a Shaheed Smarak (martyrs' memorial) at Fatehpur. This memorial will honor the sacrifices of individuals from the region, serving as a symbol of respect and remembrance for the community.

The total investment of Rs 153.81 crore across these eight projects reflects a strategic focus on addressing long-standing infrastructure gaps and boosting socio-economic development in Kangra district. The initiatives are expected to create employment opportunities, improve access to essential services, and stimulate local growth.

Impact on Regional Development

These development projects are part of a broader effort by the Himachal Pradesh government to accelerate progress in rural and semi-urban areas. By prioritizing infrastructure like bridges and roads, the administration aims to reduce travel time, enhance safety, and promote tourism and trade in the region.

The Chief Minister's proactive engagement during the tour highlights the importance of grassroots-level governance and direct interaction with constituents to identify and address their needs effectively.
