In a concerning incident in Lucknow, several sheep and a cow have died under mysterious circumstances, prompting a visit and strong reaction from the opposition Samajwadi Party. The party's state president, Shyam Lal Pal, visited the affected Dubagga area on Monday to assess the situation firsthand.
Delegation Visits, Blames Stale Food Waste
Accompanied by a delegation of party leaders, Shyam Lal Pal met with the affected livestock owners. On Tuesday, he issued a statement clarifying the probable cause. The sheep are believed to have died after consuming stale food that had been dumped in the area as leftovers from food packets. The delegation interacted with Pradeep Pal, Vijay Pal, and Ratan Pal from Fatehpur, who owned the sheep and the cow that perished.
Allegations of Inadequate Compensation and Cover-up
The SP state president raised serious allegations regarding the administration's handling of the aftermath. He maintained that government compensation was not being paid for all the deceased animals but only for a select few, which he deemed unfair. Pal specifically demanded compensation for a local resident, Sarawan Kumar, whose cow died in the incident.
Quoting the three sheep owners, Pal alleged that the local administration forcibly buried the dead sheep in a ditch. Furthermore, he claimed that sheep which had fallen ill but were still alive were loaded onto trucks and shifted back to Fatehpur.
Demands for Thorough Probe and Justice
Leading the delegation, the Samajwadi Party state chief has put forth clear demands to the authorities. He called for a thorough probe into the entire incident to determine responsibility and prevent such occurrences in the future. Additionally, he insisted on adequate financial compensation for all the dead sheep and the cow, ensuring that all affected owners receive justice and support for their losses. The incident has highlighted issues of waste disposal and administrative accountability in the region.
