Out of the six electoral divisions of the Zilla Parishad, the Shiv Sena is contesting two seats, while the Shiv Sena (UBT) is vying for one seat, and the NCP is fielding candidates for two seats. Notably, the NCP (SP) has put forward its candidates using the NCP's distinctive 'clock' symbol, emphasizing unity within the alliance. Leading the Maha Aghadi campaign in this region is Shiv Sena (UBT)'s Barshi MLA Dilip Sopal, who is playing a pivotal role in mobilizing voters.

During his address at the rally, Deputy CM Shinde made pointed remarks about MLA Dilip Sopal, suggesting that if Sopal had not switched allegiances in the past, he would have attained a ministerial position by now. Shinde acknowledged Sopal's political longevity, noting that he is currently serving as an MLA for the seventh term and expressed confidence that Sopal will secure an eighth term in the upcoming elections. The formation of the Maha Aghadi alliance is strategically aimed at curbing the BJP's consistent electoral successes in the region. Shinde's campaign efforts extended to Pennur village in Mohol tehsil, where he addressed another rally in support of Shiv Sena (UBT) and NCP candidates. Here, he paid an emotional tribute to Ajit Pawar, who tragically died in an air crash in Baramati on January 28. Shinde reflected on the challenges of campaigning without Pawar's presence, stating that it has made the electoral process more difficult. However, he emphasized that these elections are ultimately for the dedicated party workers who labored tirelessly during the assembly elections to ensure their leaders' victories.
Addressing Opposition Criticisms on Farmer and Ladki Bahin Promises
In his speech, Shinde directly addressed criticisms from the opposition regarding unfulfilled promises to farmers and beneficiaries of the Ladki Bahin scheme. He reaffirmed the government's commitment to waiving farm loans, revealing that a committee has been established to oversee this process. "The committee will soon submit its report," Shinde assured, indicating progress on this front. Additionally, he pledged to meet the demand for increasing the monthly payment to Ladki Bahin beneficiaries to Rs 2,100, a promise aimed at bolstering support among key voter segments.
