Trevor Dietz's Role in the Band's Success

Trevor Dietz was a familiar figure to Fontaines D.C. fans and was widely regarded as an honorary member of the Irish group. In 2016, he discovered the band while booking artists at Dublin's Workman's Club. That same year, Fontaines D.C. signed with him, and they went on to release their debut album, 'Dogrel,' which garnered critical acclaim. The band is signed under the same label that manages other notable acts such as Arctic Monkeys and Royal Blood.

In a 2019 appearance at MIX Course, Dietz reflected on his first meeting with the band. 'I wouldn't have worked with the band if they hadn't had huge expectations and huge dreams. If other people had heard the conversation that day, they would have gone, ‘Jesus, these guys are nuts, it’s not going to happen’, but I knew we could go well beyond Ireland with this. So, first and foremost, you need a band that shares your vision and who are reliable, accountable, and honest,' he said.

Dietz had been with the group for a decade, serving as their manager since signing them exactly 10 years ago. Over the years, he developed close friendships with all the band members, remaining a steadfast presence in their lives and careers.
