APCC Chief Sharmila Accuses YSRCP of Diverting Attention from Viveka Murder Case
Sharmila: YSRCP Diverting from Viveka Murder with Asset Talk

APCC President YS Sharmila Condemns YSRCP's Alleged Diversion Tactics in Vivekananda Reddy Case

In a strongly worded press conference held in Vijayawada on Monday, Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) chief YS Sharmila launched a pointed critique against the ruling YSR Congress Party (YSRCP). She accused the party of intentionally attempting to divert public attention away from the unresolved murder case of former minister YS Vivekananda Reddy by instead raising issues related to family assets and property disputes.

Focus on Murder Investigation, Not Property Matters

Sharmila firmly clarified that her recent statements delivered in Visakhapatnam were exclusively centered on the Vivekananda Reddy murder investigation. She emphasized that she had not discussed any asset-related matters, contrary to claims made by certain YSRCP leaders. "My agenda is justice for Viveka's murder, not politics over properties. I spoke solely about the homicide, yet YSRCP representatives persistently steer conversations toward assets," she declared during the media interaction.

The APCC president asserted that the YSRCP has consistently employed a strategy of spreading false narratives repeatedly to misguide the electorate. "This party operates on a principle of turning lies into perceived truths through constant repetition. However, factual reality cannot be obscured forever," Sharmila stated, expressing confidence that the truth would ultimately emerge victorious.

Allegations of Misleading the Viveka Murder Probe

Sharmila directed specific allegations against Kadapa Member of Parliament YS Avinash Reddy, accusing him of actively obstructing the investigation into Vivekananda Reddy's death. She claimed that MP Reddy has been promoting an unsubstantiated "heart attack" theory to explain the former minister's demise. "The heart attack narrative is a complete fabrication, a manufactured story designed to mislead. They even attempted to impose this same false explanation on Sunitha, Viveka's own daughter," Sharmila revealed.

She further challenged the YSRCP's commitment to transparency, stating, "The ruling party lacks the courage to provide straightforward answers to the pressing questions surrounding Viveka's murder. Their evasion speaks volumes."

Questions Regarding YS Vijayamma's Alleged Letter

The Congress leader also referenced a recently circulated letter purportedly written by YS Vijayamma. Sharmila questioned why YSRCP president and Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has not issued a direct response to its contents. She argued that the party's silence on the matter is telling. "If the letter were fraudulent, Vijayamma would have publicly denied it. If it were untrue, they would have promptly arranged for media to obtain her clarification. Their collective silence strongly indicates the letter's authenticity," she reasoned.

Instead of addressing the substantive issues potentially raised in the letter, Sharmila accused YSRCP leaders of resorting to making unfounded allegations against her personally. She characterized these attacks as diversionary tactics meant to avoid engaging with the core issues related to the Vivekananda Reddy case and internal party communications.

The press conference underscored the escalating political tensions in Andhra Pradesh, with the opposition Congress party positioning the Vivekananda murder investigation as a central point of critique against the ruling YSRCP government, alleging obfuscation and deliberate misdirection.
