Sadbhaav Yatra Arrives in Sirsa with Message of Unity and Trust
Former Member of Parliament Brijendra Singh spearheaded the two-day Sadbhaav Yatra as it entered Sirsa on Tuesday, emphasizing that the initiative is dedicated to fostering trust and social cohesion rather than pursuing electoral advantages. The march commenced at Ghora Chowk and progressed through significant landmarks including the Bus Stand, Barnala Road, Bar Association, Janata Bhawan, Rori Bazaar, and Bhagat Singh Chowk, culminating at Shaheed Krishna Chowk.
Connecting to Broader National Movements
In his address to the assembled crowd, Singh drew parallels between the Sadbhaav Yatra and Rahul Gandhi's Bharat Jodo Yatra from 2022–23, portraying it as a subsequent phase in the ongoing endeavor to unify the nation. He articulated that the primary objectives are to reinforce party infrastructure and advocate for communal harmony, distancing the effort from any immediate political campaigning.
Singh underscored that substantial political endeavors cannot depend solely on individual leadership, urging party officials and activists to proactively interact with constituents in their respective regions. He alleged that certain factions are attempting to disrupt communal unity and described the yatra as a proactive measure to restore social trust by engaging directly with villages and assembly constituencies.
Recognition of Dedicated Participants
The event saw participation from key local figures, including Santosh Beniwal, President of the Sirsa Congress unit, who joined despite sustaining an injury. Other notable attendees comprised former MLA Balkaur Singh and former chairman Randhir Singh, among others. Singh commended the party workers for overcoming challenges during the march, characterizing the yatra as the inception of a prolonged political and ideological drive extending from grassroots communities to the parliamentary level.
Critique of International Agreements
During a stop at the Bar Association in Sirsa, Singh voiced criticism of a US deal, contending that it would excessively open India's market to the United States without sufficient governmental transparency. He called for enhanced public oversight and scrutiny of such agreements to safeguard national interests.
The Sadbhaav Yatra in Sirsa thus stands as a significant event aimed at promoting dialogue, unity, and organizational strength within the political framework, with a clear focus on long-term social objectives over short-term electoral strategies.
