Following the 2023 delimitation exercise, the constituency is now part of the Nagaon Parliamentary constituency. Earlier, it was part of the Kaliabor Lok Sabha seat, which has been redrawn and renamed as Kaziranga.

In the 2026 Assembly elections, Nurul Huda of the Congress party defeated Aminul Islam of the All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) and Jakir Hussain Faraji of the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP), who represented the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
