Rohit Pawar: Family Reuniting Was Ajit's Dream, Backs Sunetra

Rohit Pawar Advocates for Sunetra Pawar as NCP Chief, Highlights Family Reunion

Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar) legislator Rohit Pawar declared on Saturday that the entire Pawar family has now reunited, a development he described as the long-held dream of the late NCP leader Ajit Pawar. Rohit made these significant remarks immediately after casting his vote in the zilla parishad elections held in Pimpali village, located within the Baramati taluka of Maharashtra.

Ajit Pawar's Vision for Family Unity

Rohit Pawar emphasized that it was Ajit Pawar's heartfelt wish to see the family come together as one cohesive unit. "It was Ajit Pawar's wish that the entire family should come together, and efforts were being made by Dada himself toward that end," he stated. He further noted that all family members, including Supriya Sule and Sharad Pawar, had been working diligently toward this common goal. "As the Pawar family, we are united, and Ajitdada's dream that the family should remain together will surely manifest. Today, everyone came together spontaneously. The family is reuniting once again," Rohit added, underscoring the emotional and political significance of this reunion.

Election Context and Ajit Pawar's Final Aspirations

The elections for 12 zila parishads and panchayat samitis across Maharashtra were originally scheduled for Thursday but were postponed to Saturday following the untimely death of Ajit Pawar. The results of these crucial local body elections are set to be announced on Monday. Rohit Pawar reiterated that his uncle had a final dream: to see a maximum number of his loyal supporters and dedicated workers elected in these zilla parishad and panchayat samiti polls. "Today, we have to acknowledge that this was his final dream. I have exercised my right to vote today along with my family. I am confident that the voters and workers will fulfil Dada's dream of seeing his supporters elected to the zilla parishad in large numbers," he expressed with conviction.

Emotional Family Conversations and Future Plans

When questioned about a viral video that featured himself, Sharad Pawar, and Ajit's son Parth Pawar, Rohit Pawar, who also serves as the NCP(SP) secretary, described the interaction as deeply emotional. "We had an emotional conversation. There are certain things we will have to do in the coming times—not political ones," he revealed, hinting at personal or familial commitments ahead, though he did not elaborate on specific details.

Strong Endorsement for Sunetra Pawar as NCP President

On the critical issue of the NCP's leadership and potential merger discussions, Rohit Pawar voiced strong support for Ajit Pawar's wife, Sunetra Pawar. "I see Ajit kaka (uncle) in Sunetra kaki (aunt). There is a heartfelt wish that the vacant post of national president should be given to Sunetra kaki," he asserted. This statement aligns with his previous comments on Thursday, where he similarly backed Sunetra Pawar for the position of NCP national president. "As the Pawar family, we wish that after taking over as Deputy Chief Minister, Sunetra kaki should be the next NCP national president," he had stated earlier, reinforcing the family's unified stance on her leadership.

Appeal to Voters for NCP Victory

In a social media post on Wednesday, Rohit Pawar had already made a passionate appeal to voters, urging them to ensure a decisive victory for the NCP in the zilla parishad elections. "It is a request to all voters of zilla parishads where the elections are scheduled to consider this an appropriate time to cooperate in supporting the ideology of Ajit Pawar by remembering him. It will be a true homage to the deceased leader by carrying forward his legacy of thought," he had written, framing the election as a tribute to Ajit Pawar's political vision and enduring influence.
