Ranchi Deputy Commissioner Launches Major Anti-Corruption Drive in Revenue Department

In a decisive move to eradicate corruption and inefficiency, Ranchi Deputy Commissioner Manjunath Bhajantri initiated a series of strict disciplinary actions against revenue staff across the district's circle offices on Saturday. The crackdown targets unlawful activities and delays in public service delivery.

Suspensions and Showcause Notices Issued

The administration suspended a revenue employee from the Kanke circle for involvement in the illegal construction of a boundary wall. Simultaneously, in the Angara circle, another staff member was served a showcause notice for failing to dispose of mutation applications pending for over 90 days.

Bhajantri issued a stern warning, stating that individuals acting unlawfully or violating regulations would face severe consequences without exception. The district administration is prioritizing the swift resolution of mutation cases involving land parcels smaller than 10 decimals.

War Footing on Mutation Cases and Random Reviews

"These cases must be handled on a war footing," emphasized Bhajantri. He added that if any such pending case is highlighted during a 'Janata Darbar' (public hearing), the responsible employee will confront immediate disciplinary action.

To ensure transparency and fairness, the additional collector of Ranchi has been instructed to randomly select and review 10 rejected mutation cases from each circle. "If the investigation reveals that an application was rejected erroneously, charge-sheets must be framed against all individuals involved," the Deputy Commissioner declared.

Strict Measures Against Land Mafia Collusion

In a bid to curb illicit land dealings, circle officers have been directed to maintain rigorous oversight of their subordinates. Disciplinary proceedings will be initiated against anyone found colluding with land mafias.

Bhajantri explicitly warned, "No circle officer shall collude with the land mafia; nor shall any circle inspector or employee engage in illicit activities. Otherwise, strict action is inevitable."

Addressing Technical and Administrative Challenges

The Deputy Commissioner also addressed operational hurdles, mandating that revenue offices report system issues promptly to prevent disruptions in revenue-related work. The meeting further covered essential administrative responsibilities, including land demarcation for Anganwadi centres and the timely disbursement of compensation for natural disasters and hit-and-run incidents.

This comprehensive initiative underscores the administration's commitment to enhancing governance, accountability, and public service efficiency in Ranchi's revenue department.
