The district administration of Tarn Taran convened a crucial meeting on Friday to finalize preparations for a significant anti-drug march, which will be led by Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria on February 9. This initiative aims to combat the growing drug menace in the region and mobilize community support for a drug-free society.

Administrative Preparations and Key Attendees

Deputy Commissioner Rahul chaired a special meeting with officials from various departments to ensure seamless execution of the event. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Surendra Lamba was also present, highlighting the collaborative effort between administrative and law enforcement agencies. The Deputy Commissioner issued detailed directives regarding security protocols, traffic management, cleanliness drives, health facilities, medical teams, refreshments, and drinking water arrangements to guarantee the march's success.

March Details and Community Participation

The anti-drug walk is scheduled to commence from Sri Guru Harkrishan Public School and proceed to the Police Lines. A large contingent of students, youth club members, and dedicated volunteers is expected to participate, collectively issuing a powerful appeal to renounce drugs and work towards their eradication from society. This event underscores the administration's commitment to engaging the youth in proactive measures against substance abuse.

In addition to the Deputy Commissioner and SSP, the meeting was attended by several key officials, including Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Sanjeev Kumar, Assistant Commissioner Dr. Karanvir Singh, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Gurmeet Singh, Deputy Director of Mai Bharat Jasleen Kaur, and District Education Officer (Secondary) Satnam Singh Bath. Their presence ensured a comprehensive approach to planning, covering all logistical and operational aspects for the Governor's visit and the march.
