Prayagraj Bus Routes Shift Temporarily: Civil Lines Station Under Renovation
Prayagraj Bus Routes Changed Due to Civil Lines Renovation

Commuters in Prayagraj need to take note of significant temporary changes to their bus travel plans. The Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) has announced a shift in operations for several key routes. This move comes as the Civil Lines bus station undergoes renovation work.

New Temporary Departure Points

Starting from Friday, the authorities have activated alternative boarding points to ensure services continue uninterrupted. The primary temporary hub is the Vidya Vahini bus station, situated adjacent to KP College. This location will serve as the departure point for buses heading to multiple destinations.

In addition, buses for some specific routes are operating from a separate temporary facility. Passengers bound for Gorakhpur and Varanasi must now board their buses from the temporary bus station established in Jhunsi.

Detailed Route Changes for Major Cities

The UPSRTC has laid out specific new paths for buses to navigate the city. These changes are crucial for passengers to understand to avoid missing their buses or reaching the wrong pick-up point.

For travelers heading to Lucknow and Ayodhya, buses will follow this revised path: They will commence from the Medical College, take a right turn, then proceed left at Balson Chowk, and finally take a right turn towards the Public Service Commission.

Similarly, services for Kanpur and Kaushambi have been rerouted. These buses will start from the Medical crossing, turn right towards Balson Chowk, then take a left towards the Public Service Commission. The route will then pass through Dhobi Ghat and go over the High Court Overbridge.

Planning Your Journey

The corporation has not specified an end date for these temporary arrangements, indicating they will remain in place until the renovation work at the main Civil Lines station is complete. Commuters are strongly advised to factor in these changes and the potential for slightly longer travel times within the city due to the altered routes.

Passengers should plan to arrive at the correct temporary terminal—either Vidya Vahini or Jhunsi—well before their scheduled departure. Keeping abreast of further updates from UPSRTC is also recommended as the renovation project progresses.
