Bihar CM Nitish Kumar Unveils Massive Rs 1,058 Crore Development Push in Buxar and Ara

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, during his ongoing Samriddhi Yatra on Wednesday, launched and inaugurated a comprehensive array of development projects totaling approximately Rs 1,058 crore across the districts of Buxar and Bhojpur. This significant investment underscores the state government's unwavering commitment to enhancing infrastructure, promoting public welfare, and generating employment opportunities for the people of Bihar.

Major Projects Launched in Buxar District

In Buxar, the Chief Minister addressed a large gathering at the Jan Samvad programme held at Qila Maidan. He eloquently highlighted the transformative journey of Bihar since 2005, marking a shift from an era characterized by fear and poor governance to a new chapter of peace, substantial development, and communal harmony. The CM inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for a total of 64 development schemes in Buxar district, with a combined worth of Rs 592 crore.

This includes 41 completed projects valued at Rs 106 crore and 23 new schemes with an investment of Rs 486 crore. During the event, Nitish Kumar meticulously reviewed ongoing development works and issued clear directives to officials to ensure their timely completion, stressing that these projects are absolutely crucial for the district's holistic growth and public welfare.

Substantial Benefits Distributed to Various Groups

The Chief Minister also distributed symbolic cheques and benefits to numerous beneficiary groups, demonstrating the government's focus on grassroots empowerment. The key distributions included:

  • Rs 33.17 crore to 7,441 groups under the Community Investment Fund.
  • Rs 100 crore in loan support to 7,859 Jeevika self-help groups.
  • Benefits under the Mukhyamantri Udyami Yojana.
  • Subsidies under various animal resource schemes.
  • Ayushman cards, Bihar Student Credit Cards, and skill certificates to eligible recipients.

Interacting warmly with Jeevika members, CM Nitish Kumar praised their invaluable contribution to Bihar's development narrative and assured continued government support for women-led self-help groups. He also reviewed the progress of several major infrastructure projects, including the Malai Barrage and lift irrigation scheme, the strengthening of the Buxar-Koilwar Ganga embankment, and various road widening and connectivity initiatives across the district.

Development Initiatives in Ara, Bhojpur District

Moving to Ara in Bhojpur district, the Chief Minister launched an impressive 721 projects worth Rs 466 crore. According to Bhojpur DM Tanai Sultania, the CM inaugurated 494 projects worth Rs 197 crore and laid the foundation for 227 new projects valued at Rs 269 crore.

At the under-construction Government Medical College and Hospital, Nitish Kumar laid the foundation stone for a 100-bed Critical Care Block, being constructed at a cost of Rs 4,450 lakh on the campus. In a significant move for healthcare, the CM announced plans to upgrade the Ara Sadar hospital into a super speciality facility and transform all 14 Community Health Centers (CHCs) in Bhojpur district into advanced specialized hospitals.

Review Meetings and Symbolic Distributions

The Chief Minister held a detailed review meeting, taking stock of the progress in executing various schemes announced during his earlier Pragati Yatra for Bhojpur district. He instructed officials to expedite the completion of all pending projects. Furthermore, he presented a symbolic cheque of Rs 236 crore to 29,112 Jeevika Didis and inspected the Jeevika Mart at Bazar Samiti Ara. Later, he also distributed a symbolic cheque of approximately Rs 3 crore to 78 beneficiaries of the Chief Minister Udyami Yojana.

The event in Buxar was attended by Deputy CM Samrat Choudhary, minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary, Buxar DM Sahila, and several public representatives including minister Md Zama Khan, JD(U) MLA from Rajpur Santosh Kumar Nirala, Buxar BJP MLA Anand Mishra, and JD(U) MLA from Dumraon Rahul Kumar Singh, along with senior officials.
