Nashik Mayor Himgauri Aher Unveils Ambitious 100-Day Development Mission
Newly elected Nashik Mayor Himgauri Aher, in a significant announcement on Friday, has launched an ambitious 100-day mission designed to establish a comprehensive roadmap for the city's overall development. This initiative marks a proactive step towards addressing long-standing civic issues and setting a clear direction for Nashik's growth under her leadership.
Ward-Wise Outreach to Assess Ground Realities
Speaking to the media after her election, Mayor Aher detailed her plan to personally visit all 31 wards of Nashik alongside the respective corporators. The purpose of this extensive outreach is to conduct an in-depth study of on-ground civic issues, culminating in the preparation of a detailed development blueprint at the end of the 100-day exercise.
Aher emphasized, "The goal of this ward-wise outreach is to ensure that every corner of the city is thoroughly evaluated, enabling the administration to prioritize works based on practical, real-world feedback from residents."
She noted that the challenges are expected to vary significantly across different wards, ranging from irregular water supply and poor road conditions to gaps in basic infrastructure and civic amenities. "By visiting each area, I will gain a firsthand understanding of the unique needs of various localities, which will facilitate targeted planning for balanced and inclusive citywide growth," she stressed.
Consolidated Plan and Kumbh Mela Preparations
Once all ward visits are completed, Mayor Aher plans to draft a consolidated development plan that focuses on addressing micro-level gaps often overlooked in broader planning frameworks. This approach aims to ensure that no community is left behind in Nashik's development journey.
In addition to general civic improvements, Aher highlighted that preparations for the upcoming Simhastha Kumbh Mela in 2027 will be one of her major priorities. She assured that while Kumbh-related works will continue on a fast-track mode, development initiatives outside the Kumbh framework will not be slowed down.
Importantly, Aher stated, "We will not rely solely on Kumbh Mela funds. Instead, we will actively tap into various state and central government schemes to accelerate essential works across the city, ensuring sustainable progress beyond the event."
This strategic move is intended to leverage multiple funding sources, thereby enhancing the scope and pace of development projects in Nashik.
