Nalanda District Administration Proactively Addresses Wedding Season LPG Demand
With the conclusion of the inauspicious kharmas period, the Nalanda district administration in Bihar has anticipated a significant surge in demand for LPG cylinders during the upcoming wedding and social function season. To ensure uninterrupted supply for large-scale events, comprehensive arrangements have been put in place specifically for commercial LPG cylinders.
Streamlined Registration Process for Caterers and Hosts
Nalanda District Magistrate Kundan Kumar, in an official press statement, outlined a dual-track system to facilitate access to commercial LPG. Caterers and cooks engaged for wedding functions are now required to register for commercial LPG connections. Oil marketing companies have received directives to process these applications within a swift five to seven-day timeframe.
Alternatively, wedding hosts themselves can apply directly to the concerned subdivisional officer. This application requires submission of a copy of the wedding invitation card, which must clearly specify the number of cylinders needed and provide an estimated guest count. The DM emphasized that cylinders issued under this special arrangement must be used exclusively for the designated matrimonial event, preventing misuse or diversion.
District Administration Dismisses Domestic LPG Shortage Rumors
Amid circulating reports triggering panic booking among residents, the Nalanda district administration categorically dismissed concerns regarding any shortage of domestic LPG cylinders. Officials asserted that supplies remain fully adequate and the situation is under constant, close monitoring.
According to a release from the Public Relations Department (PRD), DM Kundan Kumar labeled reports of scarcity as "baseless and misleading." He confirmed that sufficient LPG stock is available and distribution networks are operating smoothly across the entire district. "The supply chain is fully functional and there is no cause for concern. People should rely only on verified information," stated the DM, adding that the supply situation is reviewed on a daily basis.
Residents have been strongly advised against panic booking or hoarding cylinders. Officials warned that such practices could artificially create shortages where none exist, disrupting the stable supply system.
Supply Normalizes in Neighboring Sheikhpura District
In a related development, Sheikhpura District Magistrate Shekhar Anand reported that the LPG supply situation in his district has now normalized after experiencing some pressure earlier. The PRD release indicated that more than 2,100 LPG cylinders are currently available in stock in Sheikhpura, with regular distribution having fully resumed.
Enhanced Enforcement and Grievance Redressal
Both the Nalanda and Sheikhpura district administrations have announced stepped-up enforcement measures to curb black marketing or illegal diversion of LPG cylinders. Control rooms have been activated to promptly address public grievances and ensure an uninterrupted supply chain for all consumers.
An official statement reassured the public, stating, "The supply position is stable and adequate stock is available. Strict monitoring is in place to prevent any irregularities." These proactive steps aim to provide a hassle-free experience for families organizing weddings and large gatherings in the post-kharmas period.
