MP Yaduveer Slams Congress Over Mysuru Civic Mismanagement

In a scathing critique of the current administration, Mysuru MP Yaduveer KC Wadiyar on Saturday launched a sharp attack against the Congress-led state government, holding it fully accountable for what he described as the transformation of Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) into a hub of mismanagement and irregularities.

Administrative Failures and Lack of Accountability

The MP pointed to the recent suspension of three MCC employees over alleged misappropriation of lakhs of rupees as concrete evidence of serious administrative lapses within the civic body. He emphasized that this incident alone stands as proof of the deteriorating governance standards.

Multiple Factors Contributing to Decline

Yaduveer outlined several critical factors that have collectively contributed to MCC's declining condition:

  • The prolonged absence of elected corporators
  • A complete lack of effective supervision mechanisms
  • Failure to initiate necessary corrective measures
  • An overall vacuum of accountability at all levels

He specifically alleged widespread misuse of public funds, stating that the civic body currently operates without transparency or responsibility, leaving citizens to bear the consequences of administrative negligence.

Concerns Over Temple Area Development

Regarding the PRASAD scheme works at Chamundi Hill, the MP revealed he has already conveyed his concerns through official channels. He noted significant opposition from local villagers to the ongoing construction activities near the temple premises.

Yaduveer issued a serious caution that construction work in close proximity to the gopura (temple tower) could potentially pose structural threats to the ancient monument, calling for more careful planning and execution of development projects in heritage-sensitive areas.

Broader Development Issues Affecting Karnataka

The MP's criticism extended beyond local civic issues to broader state-level concerns. He disclosed that Karnataka's tableau will be conspicuously absent from this year's Republic Day parade in New Delhi, attributing this exclusion to "lack of proper official correspondence" that created confusion and missed opportunities.

Railway Project Delays

On the stalled Mysuru-Kushalnagar railway project, Yaduveer placed responsibility squarely on the state government's shoulders, citing its failure to transfer required land as the primary cause of delays. He made an urgent appeal for both central and state governments to cooperate effectively in the interest of Mysuru and Kodagu's development.

The MP's comprehensive critique highlights growing concerns about administrative efficiency, transparency in governance, and timely execution of development projects under the current state administration, with Mysuru's civic management serving as a focal point for broader political accountability discussions.
