CM Joins Farmers in Paddy Planting
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Wednesday visited the Seoni district to participate in the traditional paddy planting ceremony alongside local farmers. The event, held in the village of Ghansor, saw the CM wading into the fields and transplanting paddy saplings, symbolizing his government's commitment to agriculture and rural development.
Announcement of Development Projects
During his visit, CM Yadav announced a slew of development projects valued at over Rs 494 crore for the Seoni region. The projects include the construction of roads, bridges, and irrigation facilities, as well as the establishment of a new industrial area. The CM emphasized that these initiatives would boost the local economy and create employment opportunities for the youth.
Focus on Farmers' Welfare
Addressing a gathering of farmers, CM Yadav said, "Our government is dedicated to the welfare of farmers. We are working tirelessly to ensure they get fair prices for their produce and have access to modern farming techniques." He also highlighted the state's efforts to provide electricity for irrigation and the implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme.
Infrastructure and Industrial Growth
The projects announced include the widening of the Seoni-Balaghat road, construction of a new bridge over the Wainganga River, and the development of a mini-industrial area in Ghansor. These projects are expected to improve connectivity and attract investment to the region. The CM also laid the foundation stone for a new building of the Government Polytechnic College in Seoni.
Political Significance
The visit comes ahead of the upcoming assembly elections in the state, with Seoni being a key constituency. The BJP-led state government is keen to showcase its development agenda and connect with the rural electorate. CM Yadav's hands-on approach in paddy planting is seen as a gesture to resonate with the farming community, which forms a significant vote bank.
In his speech, the CM also criticized the previous Congress government for neglecting rural development. He claimed that the current BJP government has brought unprecedented progress to the region.
Public Response
Local farmers expressed appreciation for the CM's visit and the announced projects. "It is encouraging to see the Chief Minister directly engaging with us and understanding our issues," said Ram Singh, a farmer from Ghansor. "The new irrigation projects will help us improve our crop yield."
The CM's itinerary also included a visit to a local temple and a meeting with party workers to discuss election strategies.
