Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has embarked on a significant two-day working session in Khajuraho, accompanied by his council of ministers. The agenda is packed with a crucial cabinet meeting and in-depth reviews of several key government departments aimed at assessing performance and planning the way forward.

Day One: Intensive Departmental Reviews

The first day of the retreat, Monday, is dedicated to comprehensive review sessions of vital state departments. The proceedings will commence with an assessment of the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Department.

Following this, the focus will shift to a series of other critical sectors. The review schedule for the day includes:

  • Industrial Policy & Investment Promotion
  • Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME)
  • Revenue Department
  • Urban Development & Housing
  • Technical Education, Skill Development & Employment
  • Tribal Affairs Department
  • Scheduled Caste Welfare Department
  • Mineral Resources Department

Day Two: Cabinet Decisions and Public Welfare Focus

Tuesday marks the core of the political conclave with the official cabinet meeting scheduled to be held in Khajuraho. This meeting is expected to lead to several important decisions concerning the state's governance and development trajectory.

In addition to the cabinet meeting, the Chief Minister will also chair the CCIP (Cabinet Committee on Infrastructure and Investment) meeting. Furthermore, the working of two major infrastructure departments – the Public Works Department (PWD) and the Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department – will be reviewed, with a focus on their performance over the last two years.

Ladli Behna Scheme: Direct Benefit Transfer

A major public welfare highlight of the second day will be Chief Minister Yadav's participation in a 'Ladli Behna Sammelan' in Rajnagar, located in the Chhatarpur district. During this event, a significant financial commitment will be fulfilled.

The December installment of the Ladli Behna scheme will be directly transferred to the bank accounts of more than 1.26 crore (12.6 million) beneficiaries across Madhya Pradesh. The Chief Minister will also take the opportunity to personally interact with some of the scheme's beneficiaries to understand the ground-level impact.

This concentrated two-day session in Khajuraho underscores the state government's intent to combine strategic administrative review with direct public engagement, aiming to streamline governance and accelerate welfare delivery.
