Karnataka Speaker UT Khader Announces Mega Agricultural Fair & Mudipu Utsava

In a significant announcement, Karnataka Legislative Assembly Speaker UT Khader has revealed plans for a major agricultural fair and cultural festival, the Mudipu Utsava, to be held from April 24 to 26 at the Sri Krishna Dhyana Mandira in Mudipu. Speaking to reporters on Monday, Khader emphasized that the event aims to boost tourism and promote agriculture in the region.

Organizational Leadership and Objectives

The festival will be organized under Khader's leadership through a collaborative effort involving the Mudipu Utsava Samiti, Krishika Samaja Ullal, and the UT Fareed Charitable Foundation Trust in his constituency. Khader highlighted that while the Sri Krishna Dhyana Mandira is a well-known tourist spot, Mudipu holds its own significance as an agricultural village. The primary goals of the event are to promote the village as a tourism destination and to advance agricultural awareness and practices.

Inaugural Ceremony and Distinguished Guests

The inaugural ceremony is scheduled for 9:30 AM on April 24, with several high-profile dignitaries in attendance. Guests include:

During this ceremony, Madan Mohan Naik Adekala, the founder of Mudipu Sri Krishna Dhyana Mandira, will be honored with the prestigious Seva Dhurandhara Award for his contributions.

Additional Ceremonies and Cultural Highlights

On April 25, Minister for Women and Child Development Laxmi Hebbalkar will be the guest at a special ceremony to honor achievers. The festival will conclude with a valedictory ceremony at 5:30 PM on April 26.

According to Devadas Bhandary, working president of Mudipu Utsava, a diverse range of activities and cultural programs are planned, including:

  1. April 22: A 'guddagadu ota' (trail running) event and Swachh Mudipu campaign.
  2. April 24: A sari walk and painting competition.
  3. April 25: A daf performance by Ansarul Masakin Daf Samiti and a dance drama on the birth of Jesus Christ by St Joseph Vaz Church members.
  4. Other highlights: Bhajana sankeertana, kite festival, mehndi competition, cooking without fire contest, food festival, health camp, yakshagana, and various cultural performances.

This three-day event promises to be a vibrant celebration of agriculture, culture, and community spirit in Mudipu, drawing attention to the village's potential as a key tourism and agricultural hub in Karnataka.
