A tragic incident unfolded in Meerut on Monday, where a 45-year-old businessman allegedly took his own life following a heated family dispute. The argument reportedly stemmed from the revelation of a significant unpaid bank loan.

Mohd Shahbuddin, the owner of a casting factory, left his home after a serious altercation with family members. Police stated that he subsequently jumped in front of a train on a local railway track. The incident occurred on Monday.
Police Investigation and Financial Strain
Brahmapuri Station House Officer (SHO) Rajesh Kamboj confirmed that the police recovered the body, established the deceased's identity, and informed his family. "Prima facie, it is a case of suicide. No formal complaint has been filed so far," SHO Kamboj said. The body was sent for a post-mortem examination.
Investigations revealed that Shahbuddin had taken a bank loan of approximately Rs 25 lakh a few years ago to expand his business. However, instalments were not paid on time, leading to the imposition of penalties. The financial burden came to a head on Monday morning when his wife learned about the loan, triggering the fatal argument.
Aftermath and Family Left Behind
The community is in shock over the sudden death of the local businessman. Mohd Shahbuddin is survived by his wife and four children. The case highlights the severe pressures of debt and family conflict. Police are continuing their inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the suicide.
