A significant fire incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday at Shree Radha Krishna Traders, a scrap store located near the Autonagar locality under the Gajauwaka police station limits in Visakhapatnam. The blaze created a panic situation among local residents and commuters.
Fortunately, no injuries or casualties were reported as the fire broke out during the early morning hours when no workers were present at the site. Thick plumes of smoke and intense flames were visible, causing alarm among nearby residents and passersby.
While officials have not yet assessed the total property loss, they confirmed that large quantities of plastic scrap were destroyed in the fire, leading to dense fumes engulfing the surroundings.
Upon receiving information, personnel from the fire services and police departments promptly arrived at the scene. Four fire tenders were deployed, and firefighters worked tirelessly for over three hours to bring the flames under control.
A case has been registered, and an investigation is currently underway to determine the exact cause of the incident.
