Punjab Government Pledges to Forge Egalitarian Society Rooted in Guru Ravidas's Teachings

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann declared on Thursday that his administration is duty-bound to carve out an egalitarian society, drawing inspiration from the timeless spiritual wisdom of Guru Ravidas. Speaking ahead of the 649th Parkash Purab celebrations, Mann emphasized the government's commitment to perpetuating the saint's legacy of equality, compassion, and human dignity.

State-Level Function and Cabinet Participation at Khuralgarh

The Punjab government is organizing a state-level function at Khuralgarh in Hoshiarpur district on February 6 to honor Guru Ravidas. Mann confirmed that the entire Punjab cabinet will join the congregation during these celebrations, marking the saint's birth anniversary with large-scale participation from saints and spiritual leaders.

A three-day event has been arranged at Sri Khuralgarh Sahib, culminating with the Bhog of Sri Akhand Path Sahib on February 6. The government has implemented extensive arrangements for this occasion while simultaneously initiating year-long, state-wide preparations for the historic 650th Parkash Purab in 2027.

World-Class Memorial as a Tribute to Guru Ravidas's Legacy

Mann highlighted the completion of a world-class memorial at Sri Khuralgarh Sahib, constructed at a cost of Rs 148 crore. He described this project as the state government's humble tribute to Guru Ravidas's enduring influence. The memorial is equipped with a modern building featuring comprehensive tourist facilities, multi-level parking, 'Minar-e-Begumpura', Sangat Hall, a state-of-the-art auditorium, and various other amenities designed to accommodate visitors and devotees.

Guru Ravidas's Vision of an Ideal Society

Describing Guru Ravidas as a towering spiritual figure, Mann reflected on the saint's teachings, which advocate for a virtuous and noble life. "Guru Ravidas envisioned an ideal society where no one suffers any kind of discrimination or deprivation," Mann stated. He added that the guru's life, philosophy, and teachings continue to guide humanity, promoting the welfare of all people and equality across all sections of society.

Mann emphasized that Guru Ravidas's message laid the foundation for a society based on egalitarian values, inspiring generations to strive for a more just and compassionate world. The Chief Minister affirmed that his government is dedicated to translating these principles into actionable policies and initiatives aimed at fostering social harmony and inclusivity throughout Punjab.
