A 27-year-old man was allegedly forced to run naked in a residential area in the Chandpa locality of Hathras district after being offered Rs 5,000, police said on Tuesday. The incident, which occurred on Sunday, came to light after a video surfaced online, prompting police action.

Incident Details

In the footage, several individuals are seen encouraging the man to remove his clothes in exchange for money. He then ran naked through the locality, causing discomfort among residents, particularly women present in the area. The video went viral on social media, drawing widespread condemnation.

Police Action

Deputy Superintendent of Police (Sadabad) Amit Pathak stated, “After taking suo motu cognisance of the surfaced video, a sub-inspector posted at Chandpa police station filed a complaint on Monday, after which a case was registered under Section 296 (doing an obscene act) of the BNS.” The main accused has been arrested, while another accused is being searched for, DSP Pathak added.

Police are investigating the motive behind the incident and are working to apprehend the remaining accused. Authorities have assured strict action against those responsible for the obscene act.
