Ludhiana Political Activist Booked for Resort Assault and Robbery
Police in Ludhiana have registered a case against a local political activist and several accomplices following a violent confrontation at a wedding resort on Pakhowal Road. The incident resulted in injuries and robbery of a property adviser, sparking an investigation under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Details of the Violent Altercation
The targeted individual, Pankaj Verma, reported that the group intercepted him in the resort's parking lot at 1:30 AM on Tuesday. According to the first-information report (FIR), activist Rohit Sahni allegedly warned Verma against purchasing a 500-square-yard property on Pakhowal Road, claiming exclusive possession. When Verma denied knowledge of the land, the group reportedly overpowered him.

Police Investigation and Charges
The investigating officer, Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Harcharan Singh, confirmed that Lalton police have initiated a thorough investigation into the matter. Authorities have directed the resort management to provide CCTV footage of the parking area to aid in identifying the suspects and reconstructing the events.
Charges have been filed against Rohit Sahni, along with associates Rana Ahuja, Ashish Narang, and eight unidentified men. The multiple charges under the BNS include rioting and criminal intimidation, reflecting the severity of the alleged offenses.
Current Status and Search Efforts
As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the case. However, police authorities have stated that the search for the suspects is actively in progress. The investigation aims to gather evidence, including witness statements and surveillance footage, to apprehend those involved and ensure justice for the victim.
