Guntur LPG Distributors Condemn Physical Assault on Member, Warn of Widespread Service Disruption

The Guntur District LPG Distributors' Association has issued a strong condemnation following a disturbing incident where a consumer physically assaulted an LPG distributor in Ichchapuram. This violent episode has raised significant alarm within the distribution network, which is already operating under immense strain to maintain cylinder supplies across the region.

Working Under Immense Pressure Amid Ongoing Crisis

Association leaders emphasized that LPG distributors are currently navigating extraordinary challenges to ensure households receive their essential cooking gas cylinders without interruption. The distributors are strictly adhering to all operational guidelines established by oil companies and the state civil supplies department, yet face mounting difficulties in their daily operations.

"Our distributors are working tirelessly under difficult conditions to ensure that cylinders reach every household," stated District LPG Association President Seelam Ravi Babu. "We are strictly following the norms set by oil companies and the civil supplies department. However, attacks on distributors and interference with delivery vehicles are creating fear among delivery staff and disrupting services."

Safety Concerns Crippling Delivery Operations

The association has documented multiple concerning incidents beyond the Ichchapuram assault. These include physical attacks on distributors and consumers directly confronting delivery vehicles in various villages. Such confrontations have generated legitimate safety apprehensions among delivery personnel, with several areas now experiencing reluctance from delivery staff to visit households.

This growing fear has created an operational crisis where consumers in affected areas must travel to distribution godowns to collect cylinders themselves—a situation that contradicts the fundamental purpose of home delivery services and places additional burden on households already facing supply challenges.

Potential for Worsening Supply Situation

The association warned that continued incidents of violence and interference could severely hamper the smooth functioning of the entire LPG delivery system across the state. With delivery personnel becoming increasingly hesitant to perform their duties, the ongoing supply situation could deteriorate further, creating additional hardships for consumers who depend on regular cylinder deliveries.

In response to the Ichchapuram incident, the State LPG Distributors' Association has taken serious notice and is preparing to approach relevant authorities to seek legal action against the individual responsible for the assault. This formal approach underscores the industry's determination to protect its workers and maintain essential services.

Appeal for Consumer Patience and Proper Channels

Association leaders have issued a statewide appeal to LPG consumers, urging understanding of the current crisis conditions and requesting patience and cooperation with distributors. They specifically advised consumers to utilize proper grievance channels established by oil companies and government departments rather than resorting to violence or direct confrontation.

The association emphasized that violent actions against distributors or interference with delivery operations could trigger severe disruptions to cylinder delivery services across entire regions, ultimately harming the very consumers these actions purport to help. Maintaining orderly distribution processes remains critical to ensuring equitable access to essential cooking fuel during challenging times.
