KTR Slams Congress, CM Revanth Reddy for Deceiving Telangana on Water & Governance
KTR Slams Congress, CM Revanth Reddy for Betraying Telangana

In a sharp attack on the ruling party, Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president KT Rama Rao on Sunday accused the Congress government and Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy of betraying the people of Telangana. He highlighted failures on critical issues like river water sharing and governance across all sectors.

Decorum Collapse and Personal Attacks Condemned

KTR, as he is popularly known, strongly condemned the recent collapse of decorum in the state legislative assembly. He directly attributed this breakdown to the conduct of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. The BRS leader described the chief minister's language used against BRS president and former CM K Chandrashekar Rao as reckless and deeply disrespectful.

KTR emphasized the immense sacrifices made by Chandrashekar Rao for the formation of Telangana state, contrasting it with the current administration's approach. He criticized Revanth Reddy for making what he called arrogant remarks, stating that the CM displayed a clear lack of understanding of key issues facing the state.

Congress's Unfulfilled Promises Exposed

Rama Rao posed a pointed question about how many times the Congress party should be held accountable for betraying Telangana. He listed a series of major unfulfilled promises made by the party, which included:

  • Job creation for the youth
  • Waiver of agricultural loans
  • Providing reservations for Backward Classes (BCs)

He argued that these failures demonstrated a pattern of deception against the people of the state.

River Water Duplicity and Call for Accountability

The comments were made ahead of a detailed presentation titled ‘River Waters and Congress Betrayals’ by former irrigation minister T Harish Rao at the Telangana Bhavan. KTR stated that Harish Rao's presentation would expose the Congress party's continued duplicity on inter-state river water issues.

He placed the blame for the state's suffering squarely on the Congress leadership, citing incompetence and corruption as the primary reasons. KTR called for severe punishment for Congress leaders for what he termed decades of injustice inflicted upon Telangana.

The BRS working president's comprehensive critique underscores the escalating political battle in Telangana, with the opposition party mounting a fierce attack on the government's performance and integrity since taking office.
