KTR: Congress won't return to power in Telangana for 20 years

Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao on Saturday claimed that the people of Telangana will not vote for the Congress again, asserting that the grand old party's return to power in the state is unlikely for the next 20 years.

He also criticized the BJP government at the Centre on various issues, particularly the hike in commercial LPG cylinder prices. The former minister said that rising fuel and LPG costs are putting pressure on the budgets of the middle class and poorer sections.

"The people have seen the Congress governance over the last two-and-a-half years and have realized that the party misled all sections of society with unrealistic promises," KTR said, alleging rising corruption, lawlessness, and scams in the incumbent government. He held a meeting with senior party leaders from the erstwhile Rangareddy district at his Nandi Nagar residence and accused the Congress government of focusing on commissions and wealth accumulation.

"In Ranga Reddy district alone, some of the ministers are allegedly linked to land-related irregularities and illegal mining. Public anger against Congress is growing," he claimed.

KTR called upon the party leaders and cadres to organize protests against the BJP government over the LPG cylinder hike, demanding an immediate rollback. While reviewing party organizational matters, KTR discussed plans for the party's membership drive and the formation of committees. He directed leaders to actively participate in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls to prevent irregularities being committed by both the Congress and the BJP parties.

He also asked party leaders and cadres to ensure that all eligible voters are enrolled and cautioned against alleged attempts by rival parties to manipulate voter lists. He called upon the party cadres to prepare for the forthcoming municipal elections.
