JD(S) Leader Alleges Widespread Conspiracy Against Lingayat Seer

In a press conference held in Davanagere, former JD(S) MLA HS Shivashankar made serious allegations regarding a conspiracy targeting Basava Jaya Mrutyunjaya Swamiji of the Lingayat Panchamasali Peeta. Shivashankar condemned the accusations against the seer, emphasizing the need for immediate action.

Honeytraps and Fear Among Officials

Shivashankar claimed that politicians, activists, and officials are being targeted through honeytraps, leading to widespread fear about their honor and reputation. He stated that some individuals have committed suicide out of this fear, while others have relinquished their positions. He alleged there is a scheme to trap deserving and good people for monetary gain, urging authorities to take such cases seriously.

Defamation and Missing Complainants

The former MLA also addressed defamation against seers, specifically mentioning Kudalasangama Sri, who he said has been defamed by people from Bengaluru. Shivashankar noted that those who filed complaints with the Women's Commission are missing and cannot be found, calling on the police to locate them and uncover the truth. He criticized baseless accusations made on YouTube channels, attributing them to community members who cannot tolerate the prominence of seers.

Call for Evidence and Police Action

Shivashankar urged that accusers should provide evidence and file formal complaints instead of engaging in defamation. He highlighted inconsistencies in the accusations, pointing out that the woman accusing the seer mentioned Bengaluru at one point and Vijayapura at another. He expressed trust in the police department to ensure the accused do not escape and appealed to the chairperson of the women's commission to act promptly upon receiving complaints.
