Jaipur Development Authority Greenlights Major Infrastructure Push

The Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) project works committee has given its official approval to a comprehensive series of infrastructure and development initiatives, all aimed at significantly enhancing traffic management and upgrading civic facilities across the city. The approvals, granted on Friday, represent a substantial investment in Jaipur's urban future.

Key Traffic and Mobility Projects Approved

Among the most significant approvals is the allocation of Rs 6 crore for the detailed project report (DPR) of a proposed elevated traffic corridor along the Dravyavati River. This major project is specifically designed to alleviate chronic traffic congestion and improve overall mobility within the city. In a closely related move, the committee also sanctioned the construction of box culverts at four critical locations across the Dravyavati River, with a budget of Rs 16 crore.

To further streamline traffic flow, the committee granted post-facto approvals worth Rs 12 crore for an at-grade U-turn facility on Hare Krishna Marg, also known as Mahal Road, in Zone-9. Additionally, road construction in the remaining sections of the Loha Mandi scheme in Zone-6 was authorized with an allocation of Rs 6 crore.

Sports Infrastructure and Land Development Initiatives

Beyond traffic, the JDA committee has also focused on recreational and developmental infrastructure. A proposal to establish a modern sports complex along the Dravyavati River received the green light, with an estimated investment of Rs 7 crore. Planning for an outdoor stadium for the Rajasthan State Sports Council in the Jaisinghpura Khor area was also approved.

In a move aimed at facilitating organized urban expansion, the committee approved the establishment of a land pooling scheme for the Tonk Road villages of Shivdaspura, Chandlai, and Barkhera. Other significant approvals included the allocation of land for a sewerage pumping station under the AMRUT 2.0 initiative by the Jaipur Municipal Corporation (JMC). The committee also authorized the planning of 4.57 hectares of land between the JDA and RIICO, along with the re-planning of Block-II of the Central Spine scheme.

This wave of approvals underscores the JDA's commitment to addressing Jaipur's growing infrastructure needs through strategic, multi-crore investments in mobility, sports, and systematic land development.
