Former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition in Himachal Pradesh, Jai Ram Thakur, took stock of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha's (BJYM) activities and election preparedness during a key meeting of its state executive committee. The gathering was held in Sundernagar, an organisational district, on Wednesday, December 17, 2025.
Focus on Grassroots Strength and Election Preparedness
During the meeting, Thakur conducted a thorough review of the functioning of the newly constituted executive body of the BJYM's Himachal unit. A significant part of the discussions centred on assessing the party's preparations for the upcoming elections. Thakur specifically examined the progress of the "One Booth Ten Youth" campaign, an initiative designed to fortify the party's presence at the most fundamental level.
Emphasising the critical importance of booth-level workers, Thakur stated that they represent the strongest link in the party's chain. He reiterated that the objective of "Apna Booth Sabse Mazboot" (Our Booth, the Strongest) is the foundation for achieving a decisive electoral mandate. The former CM praised the BJYM for its commendable work in channelising the energy of young party workers towards this goal.
Youth: The Driving Force for Nation-Building
In his address, Jai Ram Thakur underscored the indispensable role of the youth in contemporary politics and social development. He stated that the active participation of young people is the biggest asset for any organisation. Thakur highlighted the dual role played by the BJYM workers: raising voices against the alleged failures of the current Sukhu-led state government, and actively highlighting the achievements of the previous BJP government and the central welfare schemes of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Praising the discipline, dedication, and hard work of the young karyakartas present, Thakur asserted that the youth are vital for nation-building, social service, and organisational expansion. He noted that BJYM workers are instrumental in carrying the party's ideology to every village and booth, thereby creating a robust and widespread network.
New Executive Infuses Fresh Energy
Jai Ram Thakur congratulated the newly formed state executive committee of the BJYM. He expressed strong confidence that the Yuva Morcha, under this new leadership, would infuse new energy, commitment, and enthusiasm into the broader party organisation. This, he believes, will significantly strengthen the BJP in Himachal Pradesh in the coming times.
The meeting saw the presence of several prominent leaders, including Nachan MLA Vinod Kumar, BJP general secretaries Payal Vaidya and Sanjeev Katwal, BJYM state president Dr Sunny Shukla, state general secretaries Sushil Katsoli and Shashwat Kapoor, and state spokespersons Ajay Rana and Ajay Thakur, along with other office-bearers of the youth wing.
