YSRCP Chief Jagan Mohan Reddy Announces Legal Offensive Against Andhra Coalition Government
Former chief minister and YSRCP president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has declared that his party will pursue all available legal channels to challenge what he describes as the "jungle raj" of the coalition government in Andhra Pradesh. This includes plans to approach the Supreme Court and the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) to highlight alleged injustices and violence against party members.
Inspection of Alleged TDP-Led Violence at Former Minister's Residence
Speaking to reporters after visiting former minister Jogi Ramesh on Friday, Jagan Mohan Reddy personally examined the extensive damage and arson reportedly carried out by TDP mobs at Ramesh's residence. He condemned the attacks, stating they followed a disturbing pattern seen in similar incidents targeting other YSRCP leaders.
Jagan emphasized: "We will expose the jungle raj of the coalition government at all available forums and bring national attention to the distortion of facts and the continued attacks on YSRCP leaders."CBI Chargesheet Clears YSRCP in Tirupati Laddu Controversy
Jagan Mohan Reddy pointed to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) chargesheet regarding the Tirupati laddu case as evidence of what he called false propaganda by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. According to Jagan, the CBI investigation concluded that:
- No animal fat was found in the ghee used for laddu preparation
- No YSRCP leaders were implicated in the chargesheet
- Four tankers rejected by TTD during Naidu's previous tenure had been returned from another company
He asserted that these findings were supported by reports from two central laboratories and would prevail in court, dismissing the one-man commission appointed by Naidu as an "eyewash" that wouldn't withstand scrutiny.
Pattern of Coordinated Attacks Against YSRCP Leaders
The YSRCP president detailed what he described as a systematic campaign of violence against party members, alleging that TDP mobs acted in coordination with police forces. He cited specific incidents including:
- Petrol bombs and acid bottles thrown into Jogi Ramesh's house while his elderly father was alone
- Attacks at residences of Vidadala Rajini, Bolla Brahma Naidu, and Kakani Govardhan Reddy
- Multiple cases filed against Jogi Ramesh and his family members
Jagan claimed the government had filed 24 cases against Ramesh alone, including one related to spurious liquor, resulting in his imprisonment. He further alleged that seven cases were filed against Ramesh's son and even one against his wife.
Allegations of Religious Exploitation and Government Cover-Up
The opposition leader accused Naidu, his son Lokesh, and Pawan Kalyan of exploiting religion for political gain, claiming that close associates of TDP leadership and the home minister participated in the attacks. He stated that civil society was "ashamed" of these events and criticized the government for attempting to cover up what he called falsehoods through the one-man commission instead of accepting CBI findings.
Jagan suggested the attacks occurred specifically because YSRCP leaders performed pujas seeking divine intervention for good sense to prevail in the political landscape.
Commitment to Pursue Justice Through Legal Means
In his concluding remarks, Jagan Mohan Reddy affirmed his party's determination to seek justice through all available legal avenues. He declared: "Justice may be delayed, but it will not be denied. We will bring to book all leaders, cadres and erring officials involved in these attacks. All days will not remain the same—we are the future."
The YSRCP president's statements signal an intensified political confrontation in Andhra Pradesh, with legal battles likely to complement the ongoing electoral competition between the ruling coalition and opposition parties.
